ジャケットがとにかく美しい、ブルーです。
あまりにも美しいので、中学生のとき部屋にこのジャケットのポスターを飾っていました。
今でもほしい。売っていないかな〜。

Richard Marxがこのアルバムのバックボーカルとして参加してただなんて、素敵です。

アメリカはじめ、UK、ドイツ、フランス、スイス、カナダ、オーストラリアでチャートNo.1を獲得した、
マドンナの代表的なアルバムのひとつ。

アルバム６曲目に収録された、タイトルの曲「True Blue」、
「ブルー」だけど、あたたかい恋歌です。

ハスキーボイスでパンチの効いた曲。

日本ではイソップな「スクールウォーズ」のテーマ曲にも採用。

ケニー・ロギンズ、80年代はFootlooseにTopGunに、サントラに欠かせない存在。

Band Aid

この歌をカラオケで歌う季節になりました。

エチオピアの飢餓を救うべく立ち上がったUKのチャリティバンド。
Bob GeldofとMidge Ureの呼びかけに賛同したのは当時の
スーパースターたち。PVの贅沢な顔触れに興奮します。

このあと、USではWe are the worldを同じくスター軍団を揃えて
同じコンセプトでリリース。USA for Africaという軍団名、USAはアメリカかと
思っていましたが、 United Support of Artistsの略だったそうで。

この2曲は有名ですが、当時その影で頑張っていたのが、UB40が中心となって
Madnessなどレゲエ・スカ系バンドで結成、リリースした「Starvation」。
残念ながら爆発的なヒットにはなりませんでしが、よおく覚えてます。

いずれにせよ、この一大ムーブメントはその後のBonoやGates夫妻の活動、
モッタイナイEarth系にも継承されるのでした。
